Amazon Image Wizard - Batch Converter – User Guide
[Only works on MICROSOFT WINDOWS]
Overview:
This Amazon Image Batch Converter is a simple, standalone tool that helps you quickly convert, resize, and optimize your product images for various eCommerce platforms. Just place the tool on your desktop, double‐click it, and follow the on-screen instructions. No technical expertise is needed!
Step 1: Launch the Tool
- Double-click the application icon on your Windows desktop to open the program.
- The tool’s window will appear with a scrollable interface, showing all the options you need.
Step 2: Enter Your Product ID
- At the top, you’ll see a field labeled “Enter ASIN or PRODUCT ID.”
- Type in your product’s unique code (this could be your Amazon ASIN or your internal product ID).
- This code will automatically be used to name your output images (for example, if you enter “B12345”, your files will be named “B12345.MAIN.jpg”, “B12345.PT01.jpg”, etc.).
Step 3: Select Your Images
- Choose between two modes:
- Select Multiple Images: Choose individual files.
- Select a Folder: Choose a folder that contains all the images you want to process.
- Click the “Browse…” button to open a file or folder selection dialog.
- A note below the Browse button reminds you:
“For optimal sorting, please name files starting with numbers (e.g., 1.jpg, 2.jpg).”
- The tool will automatically sort your images for you (it sorts numerically if your filenames start with numbers, or alphabetically if not).
Step 4: Check Supported File Types
- A small note tells you which file types are accepted:
Supported file types: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, .bmp, .tif, .tiff
- Make sure your images are in one of these formats.
Step 5: Choose Your Output Presets
- In the “Output Presets” section, you’ll see a list of preset groups (for example, “Amazon (2000px, 300dpi)”, “Etsy (2000px, 300dpi)”, “Shopify (2048px, 300dpi)”, etc.).
-
Check the boxes next to the presets you want.
- Each preset tells you the target size (the tool will resize your image so that its shorter side equals the preset’s value) and that the image will be saved at 300dpi.
- You can select one or more presets based on where you plan to use your images.
Step 6: Choose the Output Option
- In the “Output Option” section, choose:
- ZIP File: The processed images will be packaged into a ZIP archive.
- Normal Folder: The images will be saved in a folder (organized by the preset groups you selected).
- If you select ZIP, the tool will create a uniquely numbered ZIP file so that nothing gets overwritten.
Step 7: Select the Output File Format
- In the “Output File Format” section, select the file format you’d like for your processed images. The choices are:
- JPEG (recommended for most product photos)
- PNG
- TIFF
- WEBP
- The tool will save your files with the correct file extension and optimal settings for the selected format.
Step 8: Start the Conversion
- Once you have entered your product ID, selected your images, chosen the presets, output option, and file format, click the “Start Conversion” button.
- A progress bar will appear and show the number of tasks completed (each image for each preset is processed).
- You’ll see a status message updating you on progress.
Step 9: Review Your Final Outputs
- When the processing is finished, a confirmation message will appear.
- The tool will automatically open the output folder (or the folder containing the ZIP files).
- Inside, your images will be neatly organized by preset group.
- For example, if you selected the “Amazon” preset, you’ll see a folder named “Amazon” (or a combined name if more than one preset shares the same target size).
- Each image will be renamed with your product ID (e.g., “B12345.MAIN.jpg”, “B12345.PT01.jpg”, etc.).
- Your images are now optimized, resized (with the shorter side matching the preset’s value), and ready to be uploaded to your eCommerce platform.
- If you named your images 1.png, 2.webp, 3.jpg etc, you can use Amazon naming conventions to name the first image B0XXXXXXXX.MAIN.jpg, the second image B0XXXXXXXX.PT01.jpg, and the third image B0XXXXXXXX.PT02.jpg. You can also opt to download the whole lot (up to 99 images) as a zip file, ready to upload through Amazon SellerCentral in the Bulk Image Upload tool under Upload Catalog Images.
- It takes less that a minute to convert a large number of images, and ensures that your product detail page show all sides, infographics lifestyle shots etc in the order that you want them.
- Made a mistake? Want to make seasonal changes? Change the numbering in your images folder, quickly create a new naming format, and reupload in a few clicks.
